The Ultra series is the flagship controller, built on Codesys rather than the SamSoar toolchain. That choice matters when a machine has to integrate robotics or machine vision: Codesys brings the standard IEC 61131-3 environment and the library ecosystem those integrations expect.
Technical background
It sits above PRO / MAX in the range — PRO and MAX handle EtherCAT motion and G-code, Ultra adds the open Codesys runtime that robot and vision vendors build against.
Model table, runtime licence options and the integration notes for robot and vision packages are supplied on request, because the configuration depends on the third-party system being connected.
