Specialised panels
Specialised HMI – sealed, high-resolution, isolated and handheld
Four panels that leave the standard range in one direction each: IP67 over the whole unit, a finer picture, galvanic isolation on the serial port, or a housing you hold in one hand.
IP67
Waterproof HMI
The waterproof panel targets wet, dusty and corrosive plant, and IP67 applies to the whole unit rather than the front panel alone. Blind-hole clips close the path into the mainboard, a breathable valve equalises pressure while blocking water vapour, the screws resist corrosion and the connectors sit behind silicone-gasket covers.
Inside is Linux on a dual-core Cortex-A7 at 1 GHz with RS485, USB download and USB host ports, with FCC and CE approval. Models are the 7-inch SK-070QF and the 10.2-inch SK-102QF and SK-102QF-W, the last adding Wi-Fi.

High definition
High-resolution HMI
The high-definition panel takes the opposite route — a finer picture rather than a sealed housing. Bright, high-resolution screens render each frame in more detail, which matters for trend curves, recipe tables and any screen where an operator reads numbers at arm's length.
The platform is the standard Linux and Cortex-A7 combination with 128 MB flash, 128 MB DDR3, RS232/RS422/RS485, USB download, multiple security mechanisms and FCC Class A and CE approval.
Isolated
Isolated-serial HMI
The 7-inch isolated-serial panel puts a galvanic barrier between the panel and whatever is connected to its serial port, so electrostatic discharge, surges and harmonics stop at the barrier instead of disturbing communication or damaging components inside.
It suits harsh environments and strong magnetic interference, and the serial cables now leave the enclosure vertically. RS232 and RS485 run alongside Ethernet, with USB download and flash-drive updates, on Linux and a Cortex-A7 at up to 1 GHz.

Handheld
Handheld teach pendant
The handheld unit is built for industrial robots and similar work. The housing is ergonomic enough to grip in one hand or two, the industrial-grade protection makes it rugged, and a magnet on the back lets it park on a machine or control cabinet.
It runs Linux on an industrial Cortex-A8 at up to 800 MHz with 256 MB flash and 512 MB DDR3. The face carries an emergency stop switch, an encoder, function keys and indicator lights; the sides add a key switch, USB ports and the power and communication connectors.
When to ask for one
Four conditions that take you off the standard table
Most machines are served by an SK or EA panel. These four are the exceptions that come up often enough to be worth naming: a washdown hose pointed at the door, a screen read at two metres by an operator without glasses, a cabinet full of variable-frequency drives, or an operator standing at the machine rather than sitting at it.
If the condition is not on this list, describe it anyway. The panel body, the screen and the interfaces are modular enough that a variant is usually a factory option rather than a new product.
Water is directed at it
Food, beverage and pharmaceutical washdown. IP67 over the whole unit, not just the front.
Detail has to be legible
Trend curves, dense recipes and numbers read at distance. High-resolution panels.
Electrical noise is severe
VFD cabinets, welding cells, long unshielded runs. Isolated serial port.
It moves with the operator
Robot teach, setup on a large frame. Handheld pendant with E-stop and encoder.
