FAs series
FAs series PLC — the mainstream compact controller
The mainstream controller: compiled Cortex-M4, 16 to 66 points, Ethernet, dual RS485 and CAN expansion to 64 modules.
The FAs series is the mainstream machine controller and the flagship of the range. Its platform is a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 at 200 MHz with strengthened mains immunity, and the compiled low-level software executes more than ten times faster than an interpreting PLC.
The main unit provides four high-speed pulse outputs and eight high-speed counter inputs, graded from two 200 kHz single-phase channels on the compact frames to four single-phase channels and four AB-phase pairs at 50 and 66 points. Ethernet with Modbus TCP/IP, a CAN port, two RS485 ports for Modbus RTU and free-port protocol, and a full-speed USB port can each download and monitor the program. The CAN bus runs at up to 1 Mbps and accepts 64 modules.
In FAs-32MT-AC-E, MT is transistor output (HT is also transistor, MR is relay), A is the AC supply, C the compiled architecture, and E or N selects Ethernet. Point totals run 16, 20, 22, 32, 40, 50 and 66. All models take AC 100–240 V and DC 24 V ±20 % inputs with SINK/SOURCE selection at the S/S terminal, rated −20 °C to 55 °C, IP30, EN55032/EN55035, FCC Class A and a 1000 V AC insulation withstand.
Four pulse channels
200 kHz each, enough for four stepper or pulsed-servo axes with interpolation and electronic cam in software.
64 modules on CAN
Digital, analogue, temperature and relay expansion at 1 Mbps; each module can run a program independently.
Ethernet with Modbus TCP/IP
The E suffix adds Ethernet; N models keep dual RS485 and USB. Both download and monitor over the same port.
Mains immunity
Strengthened input filtering, 1000 V AC dielectric withstand, EN55032/EN55035 and FCC Class A.

Selection notes
How to choose within the range
- Order MT or HT when the machine needs pulse trains. Relay outputs will not carry a 200 kHz pulse.
- Ethernet is worth specifying even if the machine does not use it today: Modbus TCP/IP is the usual route to an MES or a plant SCADA later.
- The 16- and 20-point frames have two pulse channels; from 32 points upward there are four.
